The Urbanas project produced a book and a documentary.
Conceived by Ricardo Feldman, the book Urbanas presents in its 260 pages the fashion expression and attitude of women photographed on the streets of São Paulo. Urbanas shows the female trajectory in the struggle for independence, to feature the achievements and the diversity of Brazilian women with texts and photos that took an anthropological-cultural perspective. The edition is bilingual (Portuguese-English), and the graphic design presented four different colors covers with silver areas that doubled as a mirror. The Urbanas documentary recorded interviews made by the director Ricardo Feldman with nine women (among those portrayed in the book) on current thinking about gender, the dictatorship of beauty, and family. The book launch promoted an autograph session and the screening of Urbanas, and took place at Cultura bookstore in Iguatemi Mall, in São Paulo, on May 2017. A project sponsored by the C&A brand with the support of the Ministry of Culture through the National Support Program for Culture (PRONAC).
